Sensitive message in. Ordinary conversation out.
The Obscure mark is an eclipse. A light disc, the message, sits behind a dark one, the ordinary chatter. Only a ring of light escapes, heaviest at the lower left. It is also the "o" of the wordmark, so the name carries the idea in every lockup.
01 / The mark
Three weights of one eclipse.
Solid for small sizes and UI. Orbit when it stands alone. Static, with lines of chatter inside the cover, for display sizes of 96px and up.
Construction
Light disc radius 1.0. Cover disc radius 0.75, offset 0.12 right and 0.10 up. The ring is about 0.09 at its thinnest and 0.41 at its heaviest. The orbit sits at 1.4, dashed 1.4 on, 2.6 off. Clear space on every side equals the ring's heaviest width. All of it is generated from one script, brand/obscure/build.py.
02 / Wordmark
Drawn, not typed.
A custom monoline lowercase, built from circles and straight stems on a 40-unit x-height with an 8-unit stroke. The "o" uses exactly the same eclipse proportions as the standalone mark, scaled to the wordmark. It ships as outlines, so it never depends on an installed font.
03 / Colour
Ink, paper, and one signal.
Obscure lives in black and white because the product is about not standing out. Signal green appears only when something arrives safely. The cover keeps its own green, so the two are never confused.

04 / Type
A plain sans, and mono for the machinery.
Inter, falling back to the system sans, for everything people read. JetBrains Mono, falling back to SF Mono, for keys, hashes, labels and kickers. No hosted fonts: the site makes no third-party requests.
Ordinary conversation out.

05 / Rules
Keep it quiet.
Do
- Use the solid mark below 48px, the static mark at 96px and up.
- Keep the heavy side of the ring at the lower left.
- Place it on ink or paper. Let the space around it be empty.
- Say "Obscure" for the tool and "STATIC Relay" for the server side.
Don't
- Don't put the Obscure name or mark on the cover app: not its title, icon, cache names or history.
- Don't rotate, outline, add gradients or glows, or recolour the ring.
- Don't set "obscure" in a typeface. Use the drawn wordmark.
- Don't place a bare ring beside the wordmark; it reads "O obscure". Use the tile.
